Our Story

Anna and Wesley met in Santa Barbara, California in 2005.  We worked in the local Farmer's Markets for several years, and transitioned to starting a produce distribution business called Farmer Direct Produce, focusing on purely local farms.  We worked with over 50 local farmers, wholesaling for them to area public and private schools, the University and City College, local Hospitals, home delivery groups, grocery stores, and restaurants.  We sold the business in the Summer of 2012 and moved to Eureka Springs, Arkansas to have a child and start a farm.  Check out our former business under its' new name and ownership at www.HarvestSantaBarbara.com.

Finley was born in early 2013, as a family we ran an Aquaponics greenhouse tomato project, and farmed hoophouse and outdoor row crops.  In October 2013 we moved to the Asheville area to put down roots closer to some family.  We were enticed by our fond memories of visiting the area in the past, the great people, beautiful surroundings, and the incredible local food scene.  Our aim is to provide our community with incredible produce and our personal contributions, and to enjoy this amazing region.

Our current Family Farm has just started becoming established in the Old Fort area, although the Sleight Family has been farming since the 1600's in America, and Anna, Wesley, and Finn have a lot of farming in our heritage.  We hope you will enjoy following the evolution of our farm.
